Overview:

As a Medical Billing Specialist in Collections, you will play a critical role in helping us achieve our financial targets by effectively managing the collection of outstanding medical bills. Your ability to communicate, negotiate, and resolve billing issues with both payers and patients is essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Billing and Collections: Manage the collection of outstanding medical bills, ensuring timely payment from patients and insurance companies.
  • Detail Documentation: Accurately document account activities, including communications, payment agreements, and follow-up actions.
  • Communication: Engage with payers and patients to discuss account status, payment plans, and resolve billing issues.
  • Explanation of Benefits (EOB) Interpretation: Review and interpret EOBs to identify payment discrepancies and take appropriate action.
  • Problem-Solving: Analyze and address billing challenges, developing solutions to resolve outstanding accounts.
  • Customer Service: Maintain positive relationships with patients and payers, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Tool Proficiency: Utilize various billing and collections tools and systems to track and manage accounts efficiently.
  • Time Management: Prioritize tasks effectively to meet monthly collection goals and deadlines.
  • Attendance: Maintain consistent attendance and punctuality to support the team’s efforts.

  • Time Management: Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Attendance: Consistent and reliable attendance is required.
