Position Schedule: Full-Time

The Digital, Data, and Operations Delivery Services area is seeking a highly skilled and highly motivated scrum master to support product teams. This role will be part of a department that provides agile support to the firm. The successful candidate will be a self-starter who partners well in support of product team(s) interacting with other teams and technical resources across the firm. Scrum teams are 12-15 people (or 2 teams of 12-15) responsible for delivering application enhancements and new features supporting Edward Jones products.Senior Scrum Masters at Edward Jones are servant leaders that support and enable teams to stay focused and foster an environment for relentless improvement and continuous learning. Senior Scrum Masters know how to coach their teams well and guide them to become high performing teams.
What You'll Do:
  • Facilitate and support all scrum events (ceremonies) following agile standards as well as Product & Agile workshops or training sessions and Lead Agile Assessments
  • Plan and facilitate team activities for Program Increment (PI) events
  • Identify, analyze, monitor, and resolve issues and risks; identify mitigation strategies and communicate with the product team
  • Think creatively and explore multiple alternatives and outcomes with team and facilitate decisions, aligning with firm values
  • Resolve impediments where less established scrum masters struggle to increase the overall effectiveness of the Portfolio Capabilities within the organization
  • Suggest creative solutions to anti-patterns and develop coaching plans promoting continuous improvement and learning
  • Establish and maintain effective communication and relationships across areas, divisions, outside vendors, and other teams, providing timely updates
  • Elevate your teams' performance by recognizing areas of strength and needed improvements and employ appropriate coaching and development techniques
  • Work with the scrum team, including Product Owner, as well as internal and external stakeholders, to influence and drive decision making and support organizational product teams
  • Plan, evolve, and communicate appropriate team metrics to promote and guide continuous improvement
  • Follow and assist team with all audit and change management processes
  • Contribute to the advancement and improvement of agile practices within the organization working with Agile coaches and other peers to grow within the role
  • Exhibit Lean-Agile Leadership - Help the team embrace a lean-agile mindset and agile core values and principles guiding and coaching them to deliver quality products and business value
  • Be a leader and an innovator within our Communities of Practice & mentor other scrum master

The salary range for this role is based on national data and actual pay is based on skills, experience, education, and other relevant factors for a potential new associate:

Hiring Minimum: $96471
Hiring Maximum: $164262

Skills/Requirements

What Experience You Need:
  • Bachelor's degree or relevant experience
  • Certified Scrum Master; SAFe certification preferred
  • 4+ years of experience as a Scrum Master required
  • 2+ years of experience in a SAFe release train practicing PI planning
  • Ability to act as a Scrum Master for large (12+) full-stack application development teams
  • Experience in the financial services industry preferred
  • Working knowledge of agile methodologies and techniques
  • Experience using Jira and White boarding software
  • Adept at refinement, story splitting, story pointing and estimating, fostering velocity, actionable retrospection, and other Scrum techniques
  • Excellent people and product management skills
  • Outstanding communication, facilitation, negotiation, and coaching skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with Clarity PPM

**Candidates that live within in a commutable distance from our Tempe, AZ and St. Louis, MO home office locations are expected to work in the office three days per week, with preference for Tuesday through Thursday. **
