About the Role

We are looking for a highly driven and talented Communications Manager to support internal communications for operations and supporting teams. In this position, you will draft, gather and review quality content that engages and informs employees, fosters culture, and supports brand recognition internally.

Your main duties will include leading and managing projects and creating informative content to amplify our business and employees. The ideal candidate will be an excellent project manager and communicator, with an eye for visual design and strong organizational skills.

Location: Chicago, IL; Hybrid

Main Responsibilities

What will you work on?

  • Source and manage informative and interesting internal copy, newsletters, PowerPoints, bulletin boards/intranet pages, and related internal marketing materials.
  • Support organizational news and changes with strategic communications plans, including the creation and distribution of talking points, FAQs, and announcements.
  • Help deploy effective communication strategies that build employee confidence and awareness, brand awareness, and customer satisfaction.

  • Review all communications to guarantee all content is publication-ready.
  • Support internal campaigns for new announcements, launches, events, and promotions.
  • Supporting a team of one, serve as communications consultants to internal customers.
  • Respond to communication-related issues in a timely manner.
  • Lead the planning and execution integrated communications that turn corporate activities and company events into stories that increase awareness among employees.


Qualifications/Requirements

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, public relations, or relevant field.
  • 5 - 8 years' writing & proofing experience in professional setting.
  • Proven experience driving and executing communications strategy.
  • Strong knowledge of communication practices, processes, and techniques.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to multitask and work well under pressure with competing priorities.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a dynamic and global team.
  • Value diversity and take pride in a team that brings together diversity of thoughts, expressions, and points of view.
  • Ability to demonstrate good judgment, and discretion in management of information and competing priorities.

Day to Day

What will you work on?

  • Meeting with internal customers to advise and give consultation for communications needs
  • Manage internal communication channels (intranet, newsletter, digital signage, etc.)
  • Attend and photograph company events
  • Attend weekly and monthly functional meetings
  • Consult for site level communications
  • Rally communicators across the company
  • Review all communications to guarantee all content is publication-ready (safety signage, posters, flyers, Appspace graphics)
  • Support internal campaigns for new announcements, launches, events, and promotions
  • Gatekeeping templates and logos for internal communications and branding
  • Respond to communication-related issues in shared inboxes in a timely manner
  • Community relations support
  • Manage distro lists
