Position: Extrusion Operator

About Us:
Our client prides themselves on producing high-quality components with a commitment to safety and precision. As an Extrusion Operator, you will play a vital role in the manufacturing process, ensuring that products meet the rigorous standards of the industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safety First: Adhere strictly to Company and Plant safety policies and procedures to maintain a secure work environment.
  • Precision Measurement: Utilize calipers, protractors, scales, tape measures, and other gauges to measure and weigh parts accurately.
  • Mechanical Understanding: Develop an understanding of extruder mechanics, including breakdown, cleanup, and setup procedures.
  • Color Matching Assistance: Assist with the color matching process to familiarize yourself with our production requirements.
  • Line Setup Proficiency: Aid in setting up production lines and identifying downstream equipment to ensure smooth operations.
  • Material Mastery: Work towards setting up and running one type of single extrusion material efficiently.
  • Material Tracking: Become proficient in material tracking and tagging procedures to maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Extruder Monitoring: Load and monitor extruder hoppers to ensure consistent material flow throughout production.
  • Quality Assurance: Understand physical inspection criteria and promptly notify senior operators or supervisors of any defects observed.
  • Packaging Compliance: Execute packaging requirements according to VSW documentation standards.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Effectively clean and load material dryers to maintain equipment performance.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift to 60 pounds repetitively.
  • Willingness to work up to 12-hour rotating shifts.
  • Capability to stand on concrete for extended periods, wearing safety boots/shoes.
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic production environment.
  • Ability to perform job functions on concrete floors, occasionally exposed to dust, odors, fumes, and noise.
