Monitors and records inconsistencies with quality procedures and norms. Preparing quality analyses and recommends necessary quality procedure changes.This role in summaryInSinkErator is looking for a Supplier Development Manager who focuses on enhancing supplier performance in speed and quality by actively engaging suppliers and implementing continuous improvement methodologies. Collaborate with suppliers to identify improvement areas, provide training and resources, and use tools such as Six Sigma, Lean, and PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) cycles to drive consistent enhancements in processes and outcomes.Your responsibilities will include
Identify product delivery, quality, cost, and quality supplier performance gaps. Develop and implement supplier development strategies that align with company goals.
Audit the supplier through Gemba Walks to ensure that the Process Flows, Failure Modes and Analyses, and Control Plans reflect the supplier's process.
Drive the supplier development process using established process improvement tools, including leading supplier recovery projects as needed.
Demonstrate cross-functional leadership that drives purchased part PPAP approval in 3 weeks or less through standard work and consistent engagement with suppliers, Sourcing, Planning, Sustainment Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing Engineering.
Ensure InSinkERator chooses qualified and capable suppliers to support the on-time and on-budget rollout of New Product Introduction (NPI) projects
Develop and manage supplier improvement project funnel that supports InSinkErator's free cash flow and EBITA improvements.
Mentor and train Supplier Development Engineers to ensure consistent application of best practices.
Coordinate and report activities with senior management to align supplier development initiatives with broader business objectives.
Minimum requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
5+ years Quality or Engineering & Technical experience
5+ years of Supplier development experience
Preferred skills and experiences
Bachelor in industrial engineering
Lean Product Development, Six Sigma Certified, Design for Safety/Reliability;
MBA or Master's Degree in Engineering
Business Acumen
Strong desire to grow, learn, and take on new and challenging tasks
Strong analytical skills, experience in solving practical issues, and engaging cross-functional teams of multiple process partners to a consensus
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to meet stringent deadlines; handle multiple tasks
Self-driven and motivated
