Electrician/Range Maintenance Technician

Amentum is seeking a Electrician/Range Technician in the Williamsburg are of Virginia. The Electrician/Range technician will be providing technical support for the operations and maintenance of military firing range. This individual will be required to performs a variety of electrical trade functions such as the installation, maintenance, and/or repair of equipment for the distribution and utilization of electric energy in support of the range mission.Work involves most of the following: installing or repairing any of a variety of electrical equipment such as generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems, or other transmission equipment; working from blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications, locating and diagnosing trouble in the electrical system or equipment, working standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment, and using a variety of electrician's hand tools and measuring and testing instruments.In general, the work of the electrician/range maintenance technician requires rounded training and experience usually acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience. The ideal candidate will have a wide variety of skills and experience in the construction and maintenance industry. This position will work as part of a small team and support a wide variety of trades to include carpentry, plumbing, pneumatic systems, painting, HVAC, welding (various types), etc. This position may require the use of forklifts, skid steers, and other equipment. Additional certifications are a plus.Job Requirements:
Knowledge of NEC code required.
Ability to read blueprints, manuals, and construction drawings.
Performs all facets of electrical installations.
Troubleshoots equipment for electrical issues to prevent malfunctions and/or identify opportunities for improvements.
Responsible for troubleshooting electrical issues, repairing, replacing, and maintaining the electrical wiring and circuits on range assets by responding promptly to equipment breakdowns and repairing the equipment's electrical components in a timely manner.
Ability to research, learn and provide creative technical recommendations in providing power and/or controls to novel systems and various power sources.
Knowledge and experience working with voltages up to 480 V.
Maintain and repair as needed all indoor / outdoor lighting systems to include all associated controls and to maintain and repair electrical distribution system in base buildings.
Repair and replace as needed motors, contacts, relays, motor starters, and motor sheaves, wiring as it pertains to HVAC equipment.
Skilled in use of tools common to the trade including electric metersand hand held powered tools.
Performs preventive maintenance for electrical fixtures.
Performs general maintenance tasks necessary for repair at the property.
Responds to maintenance calls, troubleshooting and repairing issues.
Runs new power/cables, and performs project work for the assigned customer.
Prepares estimates, man hours, materials used and orders items needed for job completion or inventory replacement per established procedures.
Serves as a liaison between the Range Operations and the Base Operations and Maintenance teams and other Base stakeholders.

Ability to work independently or in a team-driven setting, and prioritize competing demands to ensure all tasks are executed in a timely manner.
Basic decision-making skills; uses independent judgment.
Must be able to climb stairs and ladders to include extension laddersrepetitively during the shift
Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualification Requirements
HS Diploma or GED
Valid Drivers license
US Citizen
Electrical Journeyman License (any state)
Must posses active government clearance at time of application
