Your role will be pivotal in maintaining compliance, driving continuous improvement, and delivering unparalleled value to our customers. What You'll Do:


Champion Quality Inspections: Take charge of AS9102 compliant First Article Inspections (FAIs), ensuring every component meets the highest standards of quality.

Ensure Accuracy: Oversee the compilation and accuracy of comprehensive quality data packs, crucial for both internal and customer verification.

Coordinate Source Inspections: Lead and participate in inspections for Electric Boat (EB) and Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII), ensuring all deliverables exceed expectations.

Drive Root Cause Analysis: Investigate and resolve quality issues through effective Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) activities, ensuring continual improvement.

Lead Audits: Conduct internal audits (ISO/AS, product, process) and support customer and regulatory audits to maintain and enhance quality systems.

Prevent Quality Issues: Attend pre-manufacturing meetings to leverage historical knowledge in preventing discrepancies and waste.

Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Project Management, and Business Development to align on contractual requirements and quality plans.

Innovate for Improvement: Develop creative solutions to quality problems and proactively work to prevent errors identified during quality assurance activities.

Investigate Customer Feedback: Address customer complaints, corrective action requests, and returned materials promptly and effectively.

Support Continuous Improvement: Participate in Lean, Six Sigma, and other Continuous Improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and quality.

What You’ll Bring:


US Citizenship: Required for working on sensitive government contracts.

Educational Background: High school diploma required; a degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Quality-related fields preferred. Significant defense manufacturing quality experience can substitute for a degree.

Quality Certification: Training in Lean Enterprise tools and certification in ISO 9001, AS9100, TS 16949, or related standards.

Defense Experience: Minimum of 5 years as a Quality Engineer in Department of Defense (DoD) or government contracts.

Supplier Interaction: Proven experience working directly with quality teams at Tier 1 suppliers like Electric Boat and Huntington Ingalls Industries.

Technical Expertise: Ability to interpret blueprints, technical documents, and understanding of GD&T principles.

Problem-Solving Skills: Demonstrated success in Lean, Six Sigma, and Continuous Improvement initiatives with a strong problem-solving mindset.

Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to provide clear feedback and build strong relationships across teams.

Team Facilitation: Experience in leading and facilitating team activities, with a keen understanding of group dynamics.

Adaptability and Initiative: Proven ability to manage changing situations and take initiative in a fast-paced environment.
