Job Description

Western Union is the latest client to become part of Visa’s elite Global Client segment in order to deliver the best of Visa through our proprietary white glove service model, proven to grow the client business and deepen engagement with Visa.  Through a recent global deal, Western Union has contractual ambitions to partner deeply with Visa to grow cross-border remittances with new capabilities, significantly expand government programs, and launch industry-leading programs using Visa’s best capabilities.  Headquartered in Denver, Western Union operates throughout the world moving money in many different currencies, issuing payment credentials in Europe and recently launched their Prepaid program in the US. Optimizing Western Union’s growth in the core markets (EU and the US) and expanding their business to the key receiver countries in Latin America and Asia Pacific are significantly important to the Client’s Success Plan, therefore, the Account Executive will work closely with Visa’s LAC and AP regional teams.

The client has access to yearly development funds and the Account Executive should provide support in building and executing incentive utilization plans to increase VAS, CMM and VIK consumption, all the while solidifying our partnership and delivering on the client’s aspirations.

This global Account Executive role is focused on supporting the Global Western Union Account Team delivering growth and revenue targets, using the Visa suite of products and services.

Essential Functions:

The Account Executive is responsible for developing, maintaining, and executing sales strategies for Western Union, working with the Global Western Union Lead, the Client and internal and external stakeholders to maximize usage of the Visa network. This will require a comprehensive solution orientation to your interactions.Ensure programs under global account management are optimized for delivery and growth by working with regional and local teams. This will include the introduction of new products and services, particularly money movement solutions (Visa Direct), open banking (Tink) and multicurrency services (CurrencyCloud). Manage the successful execution of various Visa projects and initiatives, including Global Digital Issuance, Visa Direct Account, Card and Wallet, as well as Marketing and Consultancy and new VAS product implementationsDevelop project plans together with the Product teams and produce executive reportingManage complex Visa rule waiver processes, non-compliance cases and client escalationsSupport the deployment of shared investment funds globally and locally, in accordance with the funds mandated purpose. Provide and follow robust governance for fund deployment, secure funds allocation to the best possible business opportunities.Coordinate and drive a collaborative and focused effort including business development, account executive and solutions specialists. Work collaboratively with other teams in Visa, such as product management and client services teams, to ensure that customer objectives are met and that regional financial targets for spend and revenue are achieved.As a member of the global client team, be involved in multiple issues, challenges, and opportunities across Visa’s global business.Support new deals for Western Union and be a key contributor for local and regional deals.Maintain account mapping oversight and act as a global point of contact for our Western Union relationships.Support developing and managing an account plan securing growth for Visa and delivery on the client’s strategic ambition.Given the global nature of the client, travel is expected 10-20% of the time.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications:

12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhDThe successful applicant will have an established track record of business development experience in payments, with particular depth in real time payments and surrounding risk, fraud, and identity capabilities.A deep understanding of card network payments, cross border money movement, domestic account to account, and government programs is required.This individual should have an entrepreneurial spirit, be a self-starter with strong thought leadership with the ability to think and act independently – including a strong bias for action and outcome.The candidate should have sound knowledge of technology, fintech and innovation in digital commerce and payments.Experience in working with, and influencing, large complex organizations.This is a highly commercial role, and you will need strong financial, analytical, collaborative and product skills that align with managing major opportunities.Influencing skills will be a critical part of this role. You must be able to influence both internal and external business partners with credibility while establishing open and transparent relationships.Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills are critical. Ideally, you will be comfortable representing Visa with our customers and in public forums and reflecting Visa’s leadership principles and values.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a deep confidence in your craft coupled with humility and openness to new approaches and thinking.Natural ability to navigate cross-functional and complex relationships globally.

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 139,200.00 to 201,950.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
