OverviewDesigns, develops and implements nondestructive testing (NDT) to evaluate the properties and conformance of a material, component or system without causing damage. Records, analyzes and reports test results. Writes testing plans and maintains test documentation in accordance with applicable regulations and requirements.Major Position Responsibilities
Set up and standardize equipment, process parts, interpret and evaluate for acceptance or rejection, and document results.
Develop specific calibrations and tests.
Document results in accordance with the specification.
Identifies errors and defects in equipment.
Use of ultrasound, radiography, or other techniques during the testing process.
Conduct system performance checks in accordance with the applicable process standard.
Maintain or develop procedures, policies, and techniques as necessary.
Train subordinate personnel in the various NDT disciplines and techniques.
Maintain documentation for training and experience hours.

Basic QualificationsRequired Education: Vocational/Technical Training Degree OR Equivalent Combination of Relevent Education & Experience Preferred Education: Associate's Degree Discipline/Major: Science Degree in NDT or equivalent training and experienceAdditional Certifications: NAS 410 Certification Level 2: State issued industrial radiographer certificate - Ability to achieve Level I or Level 2 certification in alignment with NAS 410 standards, through education, training, and testing, and perform the required Level 2 requirementsYears and Area of Experience (required for the role): 3-5 years prior experience in a similar position. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Technical expertise. Problem-solving skills. Time management skills.
