Epsilon Systems Solutions, Inc. is currently seeking a full time NDT-Level II Technician in Portmouth, VA. Summary: Directly reports to NDT Level III Examiner. Inspect and monitor work performed on government and commercial work items, specializing in Hull, Mechanical and Piping Inspections for Quality compliance. Review work packages prior to start-work for completeness, accuracy and compliance with technical specifications and customer requirements. Follow basic Test and Inspection Plans for projects. Perform in-process work surveillances and weld surveillances and assist production management with final work-package review after work-completion. Performs internal in-process audits to monitor compliance with company procedures and performs external audits to evaluate supplier performance while on worksite. Communicates to the QAS to help prepare Corrective Action Requests, and Preventative Action requests as related to production work to ensure compliance with established policies, procedures and work instructions. Assist Program Managers, Project Managers, and Supervisors/Foreman comply with NAVSEA Standard Item and other customer related requirements to ensure work is conducted accurately and safely. Assigned to project for onsite support to the Project Manager and Supervisor/Foreman to ensure all documentation is completed as required. Assist production in other ways as necessary (i.e. Fire Watch, Tank Watch, general cleaning, material control, etc.) while assigned. Non-Supervisory. Provide assistance to onsite management for quality assurance, safety requirements and other needs as requested. Provide project NDT and QA inspections and testing as needed. Duties and Responsibilities:
Monitor compliance with company Quality and Safety Management Systems, Workmanship standards and Customer requirements.
Follows safety, quality control and inspection procedures for test and inspection plans for production Work-Packages and QA Work Books.
Follows test standards and specifies test equipment associated with requirements established in test and inspection plans.
Schedules and Conducts in-process "Self Assessment" in-process Safety/Quality Assurance inspections, Audit and Surveillances for the Project Manager assigned.
Performs Audits and Surveillances of Suppliers/Subcontractors for in-process work.
Coordinates with customer QA/Safety representatives to coordinate inspection and acceptance activities.
Reviews QA/Safety control requirements with customer representative to assure compliance with requirements.
Reviews contractually required quality/safety documentation for accuracy and completeness for project/job/contract completion.
Maintain OQE records retention.
Perform other duties as assigned by the NDT & Weld Program Manager or Project Manager (when assigned to worksite).

Job Requirements: Bachelors Degree and 4 years waterfront NDT, Quality Inspection/Testing experience. Bachelors Degree may be substituted with a completed Maritime Trade School / Apprenticeship with 5 years waterfront NDT and Quality Assurance experience OR 4 years military service with specialized training and certifications in NDT and Quality Inspection/Testing. Bachelors Degree/Trade School/Military Service may be substituted with GED minimal education and specialized training and certifications in NDT and Quality Assurance with 8 years total waterfront experience with 5 years NDT and Quality Inspection/Testing experience. Travel: Must be able to travel for extended periods of time (85%) Job Training : Safety, Quality Assurance and NAVSEA Standards for shipboard work. Certifications : Prior NDT Level II certification IAW NAVSEA T9074-AS-GIB-010-271 for VT, PT, MT, UT Shearwave and UT Thickness required, Quality Control Inspector (required), Certified Weld Inspector (CWI) desired, NACE/NBPI (desired) Base Access: Must be able to obtain and maintain access to U.S Military bases and shipyards for performance of job duties. Knowledge: Knowledgeable in shipyard, maritime, and commercial work practices, quality assurance, safety, Metal-work and contracting methods. Knowledge of Navy ship repair processes and procedures to include extensive Level I, SUBSAFE and SOC quality inspection experience. Knowledge of OSHA Regulations for Shipyard Employment, NAVSEA Standard Items, Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual (JFMM), NAVSHIPS Tech Manuals (NSTM), and DOD Standards, Military Specifications, Performance Standards, and other customer related specifications and standards Knowledgeable in all aspects of workplace Safety. Engineering and Technology: Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services. Mathematics: Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications. Production and Processing: Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective fabrication or manufacture and distribution of products. Physical Requirements/Work Environment: Must be able to physically access ships, small craft, and submarines. Able to operate in: confined Spaces, noisy environment, extreme height, heavy Industrial conditions, high traffic areas, office environment, meetings and multiple locations. Able to Remain calm in: Stressful situations including; high pressure production schedule, strict workmanship requirements, customer interface, regulatory requirements.
