What You’ll Do

Fraud is one of the largest challenges plaguing financial institutions today, with an estimated $700 billion in annual losses from identity theft alone. In addition to identity theft, there is a growing trend of synthetic IDs, manipulated IDs, and abuse of family/friends. Koalafi is searching for an innovative Sr. Manager of Business Analysis to lead our Fraud Strategy & Analytics function. In this role, you will report directly to the Chief Risk Officer and help us stop fraudsters while delivering a best-in-class customer experience.

As the head of Fraud Strategy & Analytics, you will be accountable for creating a strategic agenda and managing the Fraud Program. You will directly manage 1-2 junior analysts and partner closely with our Fraud Operations team to optimize our fraud suite via automated and manual fraud defenses. In this role, you will:


Create and execute an agenda that minimizes fraud loss while supporting seamless customer interactions
Lead and coach a team of fraud analysts to develop, monitor, and optimize a suite of end-to-end fraud defenses
Perform cost-benefit analysis of 3rd party fraud vendors
Develop and optimize a NPV-driven framework that guides the creation of fraud policy
Exhibit solid business judgment in making balanced decisions quickly while being well managed
Build business requirements and manage the delivery of Fraud intent through partnership with Sales, Product, Tech, Operations, and Legal/Compliance


About You (Qualifications)


Bachelor’s degree required, in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Business, or Engineering preferred
5+ years of experience in an analyst, data science, or consulting role
3+ years of experience in fraud mitigation
3+ years of experience managing/coaching more junior analysts
Experience in consumer financing industry, such as: credit cards, personal loans, auto loans, BNPL, or similar field
Proficiency in Excel, SQL, and Python for data analysis
Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Ability to create a strategic agenda and execute against it
Desire to work in a fast-paced, dynamic entrepreneurial environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills
