This collaborative environment delivers FRESH THINKING, reassuring our customers that they choose the best when they choose to work with the people of Dover Food Retail.Job Title: Assembler I Location: Richmond, VAWhat we're looking for:We are looking for an Assembler I who will be responsible for working cooperatively as part of a production team to manufacture and assembles complete refrigeration cases or partial sub-assemblies, including tanks, canopies, base frames, hardware kits, plenums, or other parts as assigned. This shift will be from 3p - 11:30p with possible overtime. What you'll be responsible for in this role: Read and comprehend an "A" order Responsible for the assembly or production of component parts into completed subassemblies, assemblies or completed units adhering to the assembly work order/standard work instructions. Inspects parts or completed units by using visual inspection, gages, tape measures, check fixtures, calipers, or other inspection equipment. Perform end of line product checks and/or repairs Read rulers, tape measures, metal squares, and other measuring instruments. Fasten parts together with bolts, screws, speed clips, rivets, or fasteners using hand or power tools. Notifies / communicates with assemblers, leads, and supervisors or upstream changes to ensure products are to specification. Works at different work stations as production needs require Makes recommendations for in-line and subsequent checks to increase first pass yield
What are the basic qualifications? High school diploma or general education degree (GED) 0 -2 years of production assembly work Previous manufacturing experience
To be a great fit for the role: Basic reading/writing skills Good communication skills Understanding of 6S Ability to read and understand all job specifications Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without mechanical aids on a recurring basis May be required to perform specific tasks that involve standing, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, squatting or kneeling for long periods of time
