DutiesThe Associate Director for Production is responsible for the planning, coordination, and direction of a full range of technical exhibit design, administration, and management services through four senior-level subordinate supervisors.In This Position You WillOversee the exhibition design and production operations of SIE, monitor schedules, and create staffing matrices and allocations.Develop and monitor programs, policies, and operations instructions to affect a coordinated management effort that will maximize SIE’s current and future effectiveness and efficiencies.Supervise; develop performance standards, give advice or instruction on a wide array of work and administrative matters, and hear/resolve/approve disciplinary actions.Create budget formulation for all programs and projects within SIE. Oversee staff allocations to assure SIE schedules align with projected office budgets.Develop and implement strategies for improving SIE’s strategic and marketing plans.RequirementsRequires career/career-conditional status or eligibility.Males born after 12/31/59 must be registered with Selective Service.QualificationsExperience: You qualify for this position if you have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 level in the Federal Service. For this position, specialized experience is defined as managing full exhibit operation for a museum, museum support operation, or cultural center, including coordinating/monitoring/planning all aspects of exhibit development, design, and production; establishing organizational goals, policies, and programs; and developing and implementing strategic plans for improving efficiencies, client base, and economic health.Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.Part-time and/or unpaid experience related to this position will be considered to determine the total number of years and months of experience. Be sure to note the number of paid or unpaid hours worked each week.EducationThere are no basic education requirements.Additional InformationThis position is not included in the bargaining unit.Current or Former Political Appointees: Beginning January 1, 2010, agencies must seek prior approval from OPM before they can appoint a current or recent political appointee to a competitive or non-political excepted service position at any level under the provisions of title 5, United States Code.
