Ensures all equipment, tools and work areas are kept in accordance with MSHA standards.Responsible for maintaining compliance with the Minimum Mandatory Standard Requirements within his/her sphere of influence. This may or may not include compliance with any air permits, waste water permits, storm water permits, or other rules/laws/regulations presented to the employee as requirements.Completed any necessary documentation to ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations. Responsible for knowledge of the basics of the regulations and laws effecting assigned work areas and working to help ensure that all regulations and laws are followed. Responsible for bringing all EH&S incidents or concerns to management for resolution.Must be flexible with shift availability; night shift, 12-hour rotating shifts and or weekends.Pay Range is $35.21 - $40.02Principal Duties & Responsibilities Performs highly mechanical and electrical maintenance duties. This includes but is not limited to the following: Engine repair and diagnostics. Transmission repair and diagnostics. Ignition repair and diagnostics. Complete hydraulic and pneumatic system repairs. Vehicle electrical system troubleshooting and repair. Brake overhauls. Engine tune-ups. Exhaust system repairs. Hose and belt and belt replacement. Operate all mobile equipment. Repair and perform preventive maintenance on air compressors. Light welding, brazing and acetylene cutting. Performs other less skilled tasks. This includes but is not limited to the following: Service Vehicles Change Tires Clean Vehicles Maintains hours and preventative maintenance records on all mobile equipment. As duties permit, and as assigned, performance other less skilled maintenance duties. Informs Maintenance Coordinator of major problems encountered during repairs and suggests possible solutions. Ensures shop is maintained and good housekeeping is evident. Fabricates and repairs other mechanical equipment including crusher and associated conveyors and conveyor systems.

Specialized/Technical Knowledge or Required Skills Minimum high school diploma or GED equivalent required. Education and Experience: 5+ years of diesel equipment experience preferred or equivalent technical education or a combination or education and experience. Practical work experience required. Work and act safely (mine, and plant practices) Proven mechanical aptitude and knowledge of electrical systems and equipment. Must be able to perform basic mathematical calculations (add, subtract, multiple, and divide). Must read, write, speak and understand English. Must have ability to communicate with employees at all levels of the organization. Must be able to read and comprehend company safety manual policies, SOP's, MSDS, blue prints, and maintenance manuals. Work Requirements and ConditionsWorks in all inside and outside areas of the underground mine and plant as needed. Often climbs ladders to work on and inspect equipment. Exposed to heat, cold, inclement weather, dust, vibration, noise, grease, ground limestone, heights, and other dirty conditions. Occasionally works in confined spaces. Operates and maintains machine tools, portable power tools, hand tools, electrode welder, and oxygen and acetylene cutting and welding apparatus. Ability to work in an underground environment. Must routinely lift and move 50 lbs unassisted, and heavier weights with assistance. Must bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and climb. Must be able to wear required PPE (hard hats, safety glasses, harnesses, steel toed-shoes, gloves, hearing protection, etc for 8 - 12 hours at a time.
