Laboratory Technician
The Laboratory Technician is responsible for the efficient and accurate processing of patient specimens in a molecular laboratory setting. This includes tasks such as specimen reception, data entry, quality control, and equipment maintenance. The position requires a strong foundation in science and attention to detail.
Job Responsibilities
Specimen Handling: Receiving, logging, and preparing specimens for analysis.
Data Management: Entering and verifying patient information and test orders into the laboratory information system (LIS).
Quality Control: Implementing and maintaining quality control procedures to ensure accurate test results.
Equipment Maintenance: Performing routine equipment checks, calibrations, and troubleshooting.
Compliance: Adhering to HIPAA regulations and other laboratory safety and compliance standards.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Science
Experience with PCR instrumentation (preferred)
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to follow standard operating procedures
Proficiency in using laboratory information systems
Additional Notes
The salary range is $48,000 to $50,000 per year.
Previous experience with LCMS or CLIA is a plus
