A well-established and nationally recognized law firm is seeking an experienced attorney to join its Business Transactions group as Senior Counsel. We are searching for an attorney with an extensive background leading mergers and acquisitions and business transactions, with experience managing a team and counseling buyers and sellers. The qualified candidate will possess superior negotiation and communication skills and have 10 or more years of experience managing corporate law and transactions. This includes leading and supporting a team in complex mergers, business restructurings, asset purchase and sale transactions, equity purchase and sale transactions, financing rounds from individual investors as well as private equity and venture capital firms. 

Qualifications & Skills:


  • JD from an accredited law school
  • Licensed to practice in D.C. (or prompt admission)
  • 10 years of experience in business transactions, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and other corporate matters
  • Experience managing all aspects of business transactions from inception through due diligence and closing
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines efficiently
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills, collaborative team leader
  • Experience with entity formation and structuring, shareholder/partnership agreements, employee incentive plans, and/or commercial lending transactions
  • M&A and Corporate experience with government contractors is a plus, but not a requirement
