Job Title: Network Engineer
Position Type: Hybrid (Part Remote, Part In-Person)
Location: 1430 Maryland Ave E, Saint Paul, MN 55106
Onsite Requirement: Minimum 2 days per week (One of the days must be Monday or Friday)
W2 Role (NO C2C)
Job Overview:
We are seeking a Network Engineer to perform system administration duties, ensuring network availability, maintainability, and security. This role requires close collaboration with the Networking group to manage and resolve network issues, maintain configurations, and support network-related tools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform network system administration duties to ensure system availability, maintainability, and security.
- Complete service tickets or requests for Cisco VPN, Firepower, IPS, and Prime, collaborating with BCA Networking groups as needed.
- Develop, document, and apply configurations for Cisco ASA, Checkpoint, Palo Alto, Catalyst, and 9300 switches for CJIS services.
- Identify routine networking tasks and develop processes to allow the Service Desk to submit tickets directly where appropriate.
- Develop, document, and support SolarWinds Orion, KIWI Syslog, and Savvies configurations.
- Execute unit and integration testing procedures for network systems.
- Provide knowledge transfer to relevant team members.
Desired Skills:
- 3+ years of experience with network hardware and software technologies.
- Expert knowledge of Cisco hardware switches, VPN, and IOS.
- Strong expertise in TCP/IP.
- In-depth experience with network test equipment (e.g., Sniffers, protocol analyzers, Savvius OmniPeek).
- Ability to perform advanced technical issue analysis and troubleshooting in router/switch infrastructures.
- Knowledge of Network Quality of Service (QoS) techniques and network management systems.
- Strong analytical, communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with CheckPoint, Palo Alto, Catalyst 9300, and NX-OS operating systems.
- Familiarity with Software Defined Networking solutions.
- Experience with F5 Big IP (LTM, ASM, AFM, APM).
Additional Information:
- The role is expected to be hybrid with part remote and part in-person work.
- Onsite work is required for a minimum of 2 days per week, with one of the days being Monday or Friday.
- Work location is in Saint Paul, MN.
