Job Title: Azure API Specialist (Remote with Occasional On-Site)
Job Type: Contract
Description:
We are seeking a skilled Azure API Specialist to join our client's team and play a critical role in modernizing Minnesota's job seeker platforms. This position involves designing, developing, and implementing API solutions in a newly established Azure ecosystem, contributing to the replacement of MinnesotaWorks.net, and enhancing the user experience for job seekers across Minnesota.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create systems design documentation, roadmaps, cost estimates, and phased timelines.
- Develop and implement RESTful APIs to connect vendor-managed front-end solutions with MNIT-managed back-end systems.
- Set up and manage Azure API Management processes and policies for security, performance, and monitoring.
- Configure API gateways and optimize API usage.
- Conduct performance testing and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure the application meets WCAG 2.1 standards for ADA accessibility.
- Provide technical architecture documentation.
- Contribute to system modernization and legacy system integration.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- 3+ years of experience with Azure API Management and RESTful API development.
- 3+ years of experience in .NET application development using SQL Server.
- 5+ years of C# development experience.
- Proven ability to design and scale Azure API solutions, including deployment via Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines.
- Expertise in implementing secure API management solutions, including monitoring and performance optimization.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and effective communication and collaboration abilities.
- Experience in modernizing and replacing legacy systems while integrating with existing systems.
- Knowledge of ADA and WCAG 2.1 compliance requirements.
