Podiatrist (Section Chief-Ambulatory Care Service) – Dallas VAMC U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs – VA North Texas Health Care System, Dallas, TX Pay Range $225,000 – $300,000 per year (based on skills and experience) Job Summary The VA North Texas Health Care System is recruiting a Section Chief Podiatrist to lead primary care providers and coordinate integrated care for Veterans. The Section Chief will supervise primary care providers, oversee care across community‑based outpatient clinics (CBOCs), and serve as a PACT (Patient Aligned Care Team) leader. Responsibilities Supervise day‑to‑day operations of assigned primary care providers. Travel between Community Based Outpatient Clinics as required. Lead PACT collaboration, providing independent care delivery for acute and same‑day needs. Adhere to established policies and standards of care, evaluating, tracking, and following up on patient care. Collaborate with health‑care professionals for longitudinal case management of the entire PACT panel. Write orders for diagnostic testing, prescribe medications, consult specialty services, and utilize electronic medical records. Conduct health risk assessments, set prevention goals, and manage chronic diseases. Focus on preventive medicine to achieve positive patient outcomes and reduce clinic wait times. Provide direct patient care, including history and physicals, medication management, evaluation of diagnostic tests, and treatment planning. Act as a team leader within the PACT approach, emphasizing a team‑based model of care. Maintain compliance with Message Manager, MyHealtheVet, and encounter completion requirements. Proficiently use Tele‑Health (VA Video Connect) and support women’s health care services. Document all medical information accurately in the electronic medical record. Perform medication reconciliation. Complete other duties as assigned.
