Aftermarket and Services is one of Carrier’s three strategic growth imperatives, and the AM&S Strategy team sits at the heart of it. We work across the full spectrum of Carrier’s equipment portfolio - Commercial HVAC, Light Commercial, and Residential HVAC and Refrigeration - to transform Carrier from a product-centric company to one focused on creating value throughout the product lifecycle.

About This Role:

In this role, the Director, of Strategic Planning is responsible for owning key components of the AM&S, and in many cases, leads cross-functional project teams to drive specific outcomes and to deliver meaningful results.

We are looking for a high-energy, highly collaborative aftermarket athlete to join our team, lead the charge, and be the change in one of Carrier’s fastest-growing segments.

This position will own the AM&S strategy for the Residential and Light Commercial Business segment.

The AM&S Strategy team reports to the Senior Vice President, Global Services, Business Development and Strategy and works closely with AM&S leaders within Carrier’s business units. Team priorities can generally be categorized into the following buckets: increasing aftermarket parts capture, driving service attachment, enhancing digital/connected service offerings, and leading change management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Define and own strategies and roadmaps/project plans in support of Carrier AM&S growth
  • Own development of strategic initiatives with focus on Global Light Commercial and Residential HVAC business. Collaborate with BU AM&S leaders to execute the playbook
  • Lead cross-functional project teams to drive specific outcomes and deliver results
  • Synthesize unstructured data (internal/external, qualitative/quantitative) to extract key insights
  • Present recommendations and report outcomes to ELT
  • Act as an advisor to business unit leaders on best practices related to AM&S
  • Partner with BUs to update and implement AM&S playbook in the businesses


Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 10 years of consulting, industrial experience


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Graduate degree (MBA preferred)
  • Experience working in relevant industries, either directly or indirectly
  • Prior strategy consulting experience a plus
  • Comfort working as an individual contributor - this role does not have direct reports.
  • Exposure to key Aftermarket parts and services concepts (strongly preferred)
  • Strategic thinker with excellent communication skills
