Job Identification: 41527 Job Category: Faculty Posting Date: 09/08/2025 3:16 PM Apply Before: 03/07/2026 4:16 PM Degree Level: Master's Degree Locations: 12901 Bruce B Downs Blvd, Tampa, FL, 33612, US Essential Personnel: Yes Job Description The Department of Pediatrics at the University of South Florida is seeking an Advanced Practitioner Registered Nurse or Physician’s Assistant that will function within a clinical team of professionals working autonomously in relation to the complete management of children and young people, complementing other professionals in the delivery of high‑quality service provision. This position uses clinical judgment and autonomous decision‑making skills in relation to assessment, diagnosis, and management of patients, and undertaking a range of clinical actions and professional boundaries following assessment of patient need and care requirements. The faculty will be primarily assigned to cover outpatient clinics and the well‑baby nursery (no delivery room attendance). It is expected that the candidate will cover newborn nursery weekends, currently shared within the division and generally assigned 1 weekend out of 6 (Saturday and Sunday). Responsibilities Perform professional nurse practitioner or physician assistant care according to established standards, practices, protocols, including initial assessment of patient condition, history and physical. Participate in QA projects, educational sessions for clinical staff and attend scheduled organizational sessions. Perform other duties as assigned by Chair. Responsible to a Chair or other appropriate higher‑level administrator of a State university, teaching, research, service, and related administrative activities; academic advising and related activities; may represent the university, college/school, or department. Qualifications Master's or Medical degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate field of specialization or equivalent qualifications based on professional experience and otherwise qualified to perform assigned duties. Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Instructor. Graduation from an accredited Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant academic degree program and certification as outlined in Florida Statutes 464 and Florida Administrative Code, Chapter 64, or graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant academic degree program and certification as outlined in Florida Statutes 458 and 459 and Florida Administrative Code, Chapter 64. Must be board certified/eligible in. Preferred experience as an Advanced Practice Provider in a family medicine or pediatrics.
