General Pediatrics APRN/PA – Instructor I Location: 12901 Bruce B Downs Blvd, Tampa, FL 33612, US Job ID: 40739 | Category: Faculty | Degree Level: Master's Degree | Essential Personnel: Yes Posting Date: 06/03/2025 12:53 PM | Apply Before: 11/30/2025 01:53 PM Job Description The Department of Pediatrics at the University of South Florida seeks an Advanced Practitioner Registered Nurse or Physician’s Assistant to work autonomously within a clinical team, managing children and young people’s health. The role involves clinical judgment and decision-making in assessment, diagnosis, and management, and covers outpatient clinics and the well‑baby nursery (no delivery room attendance). The candidate will also cover newborn nursery weekends, generally assigned one weekend out of six (Saturday and Sunday). Responsibilities Clinical – Perform professional nurse practitioner or physician assistant care according to established standards, practices, and protocols, including initial assessments of patient condition (history, physical, etc.). Administrative – Participate in QA projects, educational sessions for clinical staff, and attend scheduled organizational sessions. Other – Perform additional duties as assigned by the Chair; preferred experience in family medicine or pediatrics. Responsible to a Chair or higher‑level administrator for teaching, research, service, and related activities; academic advising and related duties. Qualifications Master’s or Medical degree from an accredited institution in a relevant field of specialization or equivalent qualifications based on professional experience. Graduation from an accredited Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant academic program and certification as outlined in Florida Statutes and Administrative Code, or graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program with appropriate certification.
