Position Overview
Our client is seeking a strategic and experienced Head of M&A to lead and drive the company’s mergers and acquisitions initiatives. This role will be responsible for developing and executing the M&A strategy, identifying and evaluating potential acquisition targets, managing the end-to-end deal process, and ensuring successful integration post-transaction. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in deal structuring and strategic investment, along with a proven track record of closing deals that drive growth. As a key member of the leadership team, the Head of M&A will play a critical role in shaping the company’s growth trajectory and expanding our footprint in the industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the M&A strategy in alignment with the company's long-term growth objectives.
- Identify industry trends and strategic opportunities to drive expansion and market presence.
- Build and maintain a robust pipeline of potential acquisition targets, fostering relationships with key industry contacts.
- Source and evaluate potential acquisition opportunities, conducting thorough market and competitive analysis.
- Lead the initial screening process, performing strategic fit and financial analyses to prioritize target companies.
- Collaborate with internal and external teams to assess risks, opportunities, and potential synergies of target companies.
- Oversee the full M&A deal lifecycle, from due diligence and valuation to negotiation, structuring, and closing.
- Develop and review detailed financial models, including DCF, LBO, and accretion/dilution analyses, to assess value creation.
- Lead negotiations with target companies and their advisors, structuring deals to maximize shareholder value.
- Work closely with the finance, legal, HR, and operations teams to manage due diligence and integration planning.
- Develop and execute integration plans to ensure a smooth transition and capture identified synergies post-acquisition.
- Provide regular updates to the executive leadership team and board of directors on deal progress and key strategic recommendations.
- Build and lead a high-performing M&A team, providing mentorship and guidance to drive success.
- Foster a collaborative and results-driven culture, aligning team goals with the overall strategic vision of the company.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
- 6+ years of experience in investment banking and/or private equity with at least 1 year in a leadership role.
- Proven track record of successfully sourcing, negotiating, and closing complex transactions.
- Exceptional financial modeling and valuation skills, with the ability to synthesize data into actionable insights.
- Strong strategic thinking and analytical abilities, combined with effective leadership and project management skills.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and drive alignment among stakeholders.
- Knowledge of consumer services is required.
