Position SummaryThe Technical Assistance Business Advisor is responsible for providing business counseling and training programs to individuals, businesses, communities, and other entities in an assigned geographic territory, focusing on financial management, bookkeeping, basic accounting, and capital formation. The Advisor manages multiple projects that include sourcing and driving both group and one-on-one client engagements, networking, and developing relationships with community partners. Multi-county travel may be involved.Duties and ResponsibilitiesProvide individual instruction to entrepreneurs, business owners, and managers on legal issues, accounting, record-keeping, and financing options, including completing State Small Business Credit Initiative applications.Develop and deliver responsive business-training programs, generate curricula, seminars, conferences, and serve as instructor or facilitator.Assist local field offices in determining topics, agendas, instructors, and instructional materials.Evaluate program effectiveness and make necessary modifications.Document activities via Unity, collect and transmit consolidated Unity data, and maintain client files per SBDC guidelines.Perform all responsibilities efficiently within division, ensuring administrative policies, innovation, client and management feedback for continuous improvement, and maintain professional relationships.Minimum QualificationsRequires at least a baccalaureate degree in the field.
