The incumbent is responsible for providing strategic direction regarding product and service delivery in alignment with Compeer"s business growth and profitability targets. The incumbent creates a performance environment that optimizes strategy execution and supports Compeer"s culture blueprint.Essential Functions: * Defines the tax and accounting team"s strategic direction and goals. * Ensures talent recruitment, retention and development to achieve defined business objectives. * Directly leads and develops the tax and accounting management team. * Collaborates and coordinates with other senior leaders in operations, human resources, finance, legal and compliance, marketing and business technology to optimize business unit performance. * Provides timely communication around Compeer and tax and accounting including team priorities, metrics and accountability, results and recognition. * Ensures sufficient technical expertise within the business unit and individual roles to deliver tax and accounting expertise to agricultural clients and producers in a differentiated manner.Minimum Qualifications & Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: * Bachelor"s degree in business administration, accounting finance, economics, agribusiness or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job. * Minimum 10 years of experience in accounting, finance, insurance or business management. * Five to seven years of leadership and management experience preferred. * Certified Public Accounting (CPA) certification or Enrolled Agent (EA) certification preferred. * Knowledge of federal and state (Illinois, Minnesota, and Wisconsin) laws, regulations and compliance requirements specific to the financial industry and Farm Credit. * Focus on marketing and sales with emphasis on business growth. * Strategic and innovative. * Leadership skills to select, evaluate, engage, motivate, mentor, train, delegate, reward and lead team members. * Strong listening, written and verbal communication skills, with ability to communicate at all levels of the organization. * Skill in developing and maintaining interpersonal relationships. * High level of integrity. * Strong problem solving, decision making and organizational skills. * Strong computer skills, including MS Office applications and customer relationship management (CRM) programs. * Strong analytical skills with attention to detail. * Flexible and adaptable to changing situations. * Ability to remain objective in balancing business needs and risk. * Ability to work independently and collaboratively with other teams to achieve goals and represent the business. * Valid driver"s license.
