Technical Inside Sales Representative Intro

The Inside Sales Representative will work daily with customers to resolve their needs timely and efficiently. This role encompasses all facets of inside sales, including product selection and quoting, customer service, shipping and return of goods, expediting, and handling customer complaints. This position supports and interacts with outside sales to drive growth.

Technical Inside Sales Representative Job Details

Ideal Experience:

The ideal candidate will have a strong motivation for customer service and possess at least 4+ years of successful inside sales/customer service experience in an industrial environment, preferably in valves and flow control products. They should be comfortable with understanding and interpreting process flow conditions to discern customer requirements. This relationship-builder must have excellent interpersonal skills (in person, on the phone, and via email) and be computer literate in a high-paced office environment. Additionally, the ideal candidate should have a high level of knowledge in actuation and controls. The ability to understand and interpret technical requirements and successfully communicate that information internally and to our customers is key.

Position Functions:

- Receive telephone requests for price quotations, purchase orders, order changes, adjustments, and cancellations directly from customers, original equipment manufacturers, and distributors.
- Quote products and services to customers and outside sales, and enter orders into Dynamics 365.
- Enter customer orders into Infor LN.
- Assist customers and outside sales with product selection and requirements.
- Use a computer to retrieve customer information, product stock status, purchase order status, delivery information, and make changes to customer purchase orders. Ensure correct codes are used for retrieving and inputting information.
- Work closely with production and inventory control regarding deliveries of scheduled shipments for non-stock items needed for customer orders.
- Maintain professional and respectful customer communications.
- Resolve customer issues related to technical matters, delivery, expediting, returns, and complaints.
- Maintain files of active orders and post activity such as change notices, scheduling changes, partial shipments, and credit changes.
- Prepare paperwork (original purchase order, copies of invoice, and return goods memo) for the accounting department for credit or debit issuance.
- Provide occasional on-call or after-hours support on a rotational basis.

Technical Inside Sales Representative Mandatory Skills

- Bachelor's degree (technical or business preferred).
- Customer service personality.
- 4+ years of customer service or sales experience in valves and/or automation, preferably in the chemical, oil, or gas industry.
- Mechanical/technical aptitude.
- Proficient with MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Technical Inside Sales Representative Desired Skills

- Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication in person, on the phone, and via email.
- Ability to understand and interpret technical requirements.
- Experience with Dynamics 365 and Infor LN.

Immediate, upon successful completion of the hiring process.

This position is Onsite and located in Houston, Texas, United States.
