The Department of Health and Human Services delivers public health and human services through more than 120 programs at more than 20 locations and employs over 2,000 people. Key Responsibilities Manage and supervise 20–25 school community health nurses (Registered Nurses) and school health room technicians (Certified Nursing Assistants) who provide comprehensive health services to students in Montgomery County Public Schools. Provide expert guidance, training, and supervision to health staff in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations. Oversee fiscal and personnel management, including budgeting, payroll, and staffing. Conduct program and data analysis, plan, and assist in the development of policies and procedural revisions. Participate on the school health services management team. Ensure compliance with medical exam, drug screening, and background check requirements for all staff. Minimum Qualifications Experience: Three (3) years of full‑time equivalent post‑licensure nursing experience, with at least two (2) years in community health nursing (e.g., school health services, faith‑based facilities, community clinics). Education: Bachelor’s Degree in nursing and a Master’s Degree in nursing or a related health or management discipline from a National League for Nursing accredited program, or equivalent combination of education and experience. License: Current Maryland Registered Nurse (RN) license at the time of appointment, with a plan to obtain a regular Maryland RN license within 90 days if only a temporary license is held. Preferred Criteria Experience managing or overseeing public‑health based school health services in a public‑school setting. Experience providing training, mentoring, and oversight to school health nurses and/or school health room technicians within a public‑school setting.
