Christ Episcopal School (CES), a small, welcoming, and diverse preschool–grade 8 community in Rockville, MD, seeks a dynamic Middle School Science Teacher for the remainder of the 2025–2026 school year. This is a 75% position, ideal for an educator looking for meaningful classroom impact with work-life balance.

The ideal candidate loves engaging young adolescents, fostering curiosity, and teaching science through inquiry and hands-on learning. You will join a collaborative faculty committed to knowing students well and challenging them academically, socially, and emotionally.

Responsibilities

  • Teach three sections of middle school science, with courses including Earth, Life, and/or Physical Science
  • Plan engaging lessons using Savvas curriculum and inquiry-based approaches
  • Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs
  • Assess student learning, maintain records, and communicate progress clearly
  • Create a warm, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues as part of an integrated middle school program

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in science or related field (Master's preferred)
  • At least 2 years of middle school teaching experience
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • Experience with hands-on labs, technology integration, and differentiated instruction
  • Enthusiasm for teamwork and community life
  • Interest in STEAM education (and gardening/horticulture) is a plus
