Caterpillar in Schertz, Texas is seeking a dynamic Quality Inspector II to join our team As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in exceeding production standards by providing comprehensive support for quality issues on the production line. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with quality managers and various departments to meet both custom and company needs, while focusing on elevating product quality, velocity, and cost-effectiveness through skilled data analysis and effective problem-solving. If you're ready to take on an exciting challenge and drive continuous improvement, apply now to join our team What you will do: Perform plan and/or method audits of the production processes to ensure critical to customer actions are correctLead Caterpillar Production System continuous improvement activitiesProvide support for quality issues on the production lineEscalate and address issues, developing effective countermeasuresExecute containments and communicate resultsCreate quality alerts following established guidelinesConduct special studies directed by Production Managers to understand line performanceMonitor and react to quality performance indicators on the production lineEnsure adherence to standard work within the teamIdentify and solve problems using Caterpillar Production Systems methodsMaintain safe and clean workstations, including equipmentCommunicate with the team about missed inspection items or customer concernsMaintain or exceed production standards set by the companyFoster a fair and consistent work environment promoting mutual respectDeliver daily work assignments as directed by Production Managers and assist with special projectsCommunicate effectively within the team and across departmentsSupport out-of-process containment activities and reactive quality measuresAdhere to standard operating procedures and area-specific instructionsProvide process information to supervisors and managersOccasionally participate in training and developmentPerform any other assigned dutiesWhat you will have: Minimum of 1 years' experience in a machining, manufacturing, or warehouse environment or industry certificationAbility to collaborate with different teams and departmentsAbility to read, write, and interpret documents in EnglishStrong written and verbal communication skillsGeneral knowledge and experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, and/or PowerPointStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsKnowledge of products and assembly toolsPrevious experience with Standard Operating Procedures or Standard WorkAbility to adhere to safety proceduresWhat would make you a top candidate: One years' experience performing audits on incoming material or produced partsPrevious experience reading and interpreting part prints and/or schematics to verify machine parts are within acceptable tolerancesIntermediate experience navigating PLEXProficiency in Built-In Quality (BIQ) ProcessesPrevious Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) experienceHands on experience assembling or repairing engines, engine components, and/or generatorsLean manufacturing experience and/or Six-Sigma CertificationKnowledge of post-fabrication processesPhysical Requirements: Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of timeAbility to perform repetitive operationsAbility to lift up to 35 lbs.We are committed to ensuring a supportive and accommodating work environment for all employees.
