Job Purpose

The purpose of the SPPC Supply Assistant Manager is to ensure parts availability for our dealer body and customers.  The job is responsible for ensuring on time delivery from North American suppliers, ensuring supplier relationships are managed to minimize past due orders, facilitate accurate supplier shipping documents, minimize customer backorders, and maximizing service level.   The Assistant Manager is also responsible for implementing and coordinating lead-time initiatives with suppliers to meet AHM inventory goals and objectives. All activities will be conducted in accordance with the Honda Philosophy.

Key Accountabilities
  • Lead a team of Supply associates to fulfil department’s purpose and objectives. 
  • Manage supply of service replacement parts sourced from local vendors.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to improve on-time delivery and minimize backorders. 
  • Coordinate on time delivery of new model parts to AHM
  • Optimize Service Level to Customers.
  • Work with Spec Control to minimize impacts of new part setup and design changes
  • Lead special projects as appropriate.
     
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
  • Bachelor degree, concentration is supply chain management ideal
  • Equivalent work experience acceptable
  • Supply chain affiliations (i.e. APICS) and/or Master’s Degree a plus
  • 5 + years of supply chain experience and/or equivalent leadership experience
  • Working understanding of forecasting, delivery, service level
  • Proven leadership experience
  • Experience in international business beneficial
  • Hands on data analysis helpful (Excel, Access, business objects)
