Job Title: Construction Project Manager

Job Summary: The Construction Project Manager provides overall management direction for multiple construction projects, establishing and maintaining project objectives, procedures, schedules, and performance standards within company policy. This role involves liaising with prime clients, general contractors, and suppliers to facilitate construction activities and ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with safety standards.


Summary of Essential Job Functions:

Project Management:

  • Establish project objectives, policies, procedures, schedules, and performance standards.
  • Direct on-site superintendents to ensure projects adhere to schedule and budget.
  • Investigate potential serious issues and implement corrective measures as necessary.

Client and Contractor Liaison:

  • Initiate and maintain communication with prime clients, general contractors, and suppliers.
  • Represent the company in meetings with clients, general contractors, and suppliers to facilitate project activities and address any concerns.

Financial Oversight:

  • Manage the financial aspects of contracts, including fee payments, rental equipment, and income/expenses.
  • Protect the company’s interests while maintaining positive relationships with clients and general contractors.

Safety Compliance:

  • Ensure that safety standards are strictly followed on all assigned job sites.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Assume additional responsibilities as directed by corporate executives.


Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications, and Experience:

Industry Knowledge:

  • Thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices, standards, and their impact on project activities.

Communication and Interpersonal Skills:

  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills, including tact, diplomacy, and the ability to influence others.

Business Acumen:

  • Significant business skills required to manage contracts, finances, and client relations effectively.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field, or equivalent.
  • Extensive experience (ten or more years) in construction, design, finance, and management.
