The Transportation Supervisor is responsible for the work done by drivers at a distribution center and/or resident terminal(s); and to ensure their safe, accurate, and efficient performance. **Duties include:** Assist Transportation Manager with managing staff and daily transportation operations at the distribution center and/or terminal(s), including: o Write and monitor the driver schedule o Monitor driver hours to ensure driving time is within DOT regulations o Investigate customer complaints o Verify driver hours for payroll o Conduct on-going training and periodic driver meetings o Communicate, distribute, report, correspond and process information Make special and/or express deliveries as needed Perform routine checks on equipment condition to verify repair requests, inspect for cleanliness and unreported damage Spot-check driver paperwork procedures to evaluate and ensure accuracy; retrain drivers if necessary Perform random ride-alongs with drivers to ensure quality customer service is being provided; verify drivers job performance and that productivity standards are being met Listen to driver concerns and issues; proactively find answers or solutions Actively involved in promoting safety and cleanliness at the distribution center and/or terminal(s), including: o Implement methods to reduce injuries/accidents o Monitor and enforce all safety rules o Follow all safety and emergency procedures o Complete injury and illness reports accurately, thoroughly and timely * Assist with accident investigations o Ensure the terminal is clean and organized Travel to other terminals to supervise as needed. Back up route delivery driver and/or shuttle driver when necessary. A Class A driver Participate as rotating on-call supervisor as needed. Saladinos Foodservice is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
