As an HR Assistant at Quality Private Duty Care, you will be working hand in hand with other office staff, field staff, as well as our corporate office. Our HR team is critical in day-to-day operations of our agency.

Some of the things you will do

  • Identify and participate in process improvement initiatives that improve the employee experience, enhance work flow, and/or improve the work environment.
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation.
  • Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.
  • Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
  • Provides clerical support to the HR department.
  • Complete and submit applicant flow logs for AAP compliance.
  • Conduct appropriate credentialing for staff reference checking, abuse registry checks, sexual offender registry checks, OIG, and certification/licensure checks.
  • Answers frequently asked questions from employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refers more complex questions to appropriate senior-level HR staff or management.
  • Prepare, distribute and collect new hire and benefits paperwork for processing.
  • Create and maintain accurate and secure active, inactive and confidential employee files and I-9 binder.
  • Data entry of all employment related information as required.
  • Assist with the coordination and implementation of employee recognition programs.
  • Assist with processing bonuses to submit to accounting (attendance, quarterly, survey, sign-on, etc.).
  • Other special projects and duties, as assigned.
Qualifications for the HR Assistant
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of related experience.
  • Demonstrated intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook, Internet and Intranet navigation.
  • Highest level of professionalism with the ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to communicate at all levels of organization and work well within a team environment in support of agency objectives.
  • Customer service oriented with the ability to work well under pressure
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, excellent organizational skills with ability to prioritize, coordinate and simultaneously maintain multiple projects with high level of quality and productivity
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screen
Work Environment
  • You'll work mostly indoors on floors that are tiled or carpeted
  • You'll be around other co-workers, vendors and community members
  • You'll have possible exposure to occasional slippery floors, chemicals, sharp objects, and hazardous materials and waste (including human), blood borne pathogens, and communicable
  • You'll be around possible high-stress situations
Physical Requirements

This role requires moderate physical activity
  • Requires handling of average-weight objects up to twenty-five (25) pounds.
  • Standing and/or walking for more than two (2) hours per day
  • Sitting for more than two (2) hours at a time
  • Requires writing and/or computer work with repetitive typing and concentrating on computer screen and/or documents for more than two (2) hours at a time.
  • Travel, including flying and/or driving, for more than one (1) hour at a time.
