Vandenberg AFB, United States Booz Allen Full time
Satellite Control Vulnerability Network Engineer

The Opportunity:

If you want to be in the fight, working shoulder to shoulder with our internal and external stakeholders and influencing a critical space mission, this is the opportunity for you. This position will empower you to leverage your research and analysis talents to advise and inform operators and senior leadership on dynamic adversarial tactics, techniques, and procedures.

As a Cybersecurity Analyst and Engineer on our project, you’ll coordinate with the client, system owners, program management office, and system developers to collect and verify information assurance (IA) artifacts, policies, and procedures. You’ll work with client teams to identify the right mix of tools and techniques to translate the client’s needs and future goals into a plan that will enable secure and effective solutions. Additionally, you’ll investigate new techniques, breaking free from the legacy model, and go where the industry is going. You can identify ways to harden systems and help reduce the attack surface.

As a team, we’ll take a critical approach to network design, providing alternatives and customizing solutions to maintain a balance of security and risk mitigation needs. This is a chance to learn from a team of experts as you make a difference in the security of systems and applications. Your contributions will help the clients overcome their most difficult challenges by integrating secure practices like shaping and prioritizing defensive cyber operations and risk mitigation activities.

You’ll be able to gain experience in the DoD, USAF, and USSF, and analyze client cybersecurity posture while building peace of mind in critical infrastructure.

Join us. The world can’t wait.

You Have:

3+ years of experience developing and presenting technical information and presentations to non-technical audiences and clients

Knowledge of DoD security technical implementation guides (STIGs), checklists, and testing tools, including the ACAS scanning tool, Gold Disk, Security Readiness Review Scripts (SRRs), and SCAP
Knowledge of DoD and intelligence community IA and security laws, regulations, and policies, including mandates
Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, including Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS)
Ability to communicate technical details to various levels of internal and external stakeholders
