Job Description

As an Operations Senior Specialist with Best Buy' Yellow Tag team, you'll work on our video production team, providing business affairs management for all video production, approximately 800 videos annually. This role will drive governance best practices, act with fiscal responsibility while tracking and auditing video production spend, manage vendor partner relations, and maintain standard operating procedures in our SharePoint project tracking tool. In this role, you'll balance long-term goals with urgent video production needs.

This role is hybrid, which means you will be required to work some days on-site at the Best Buy location listed on this posting and some days virtually from home or other non-Best Buy location. The specific work arrangements vary by role and team. The recruiter or hiring manager will provide more details during the hiring process.

What you'll do
  • Think critically, prioritize work tasks and balance long-term goals with urgent matters
  • Drive the execution of projects end-to-end, offer strategic input, and proactively track and communicate project details
  • Maintain SharePoint as a central resource for operational success, including the project tracking tool, calendars, documents, protocols, and work on back-end databases
  • Manage weekly payroll review and approvals, an estimated $4 million annually, solve problems, and ensure accuracy to 35+ cost centers and timely payroll release
  • Oversee the declining balance card process, issuance, tracking and audit of spend, ensure accuracy and accountability for all charges
  • Partner with producers to uphold company policies and procedures, and work side by side with the Travel/Expense team to resolve issues quickly
  • Work collaboratively with other departments on shared procedures and tools to keep consistency, share best practices and schedule upgrades
  • Coach and onboard others on systems and tools needed for project management and video production, including SharePoint, FileMaker Pro, Brightcove, CatDV MAM, Frame.io and the PayReel payroll portal
Basic qualifications
  • 3 years of experience in business operations/governance, or related field
  • 2 years of experience with SharePoint site management
  • 2 years of experience in financial management
  • Intermediate proficiency using Microsoft tools to include Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat
Preferred qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Business, Office Administration, Finance or related field
  • Knowledge of video production or live events
  • Experience in working for a large consumer-oriented business
  • Expertise with vendor management and project management
  • Previous payroll provider experience
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational and problem-solving skills
