Production Engineer

The Production Engineer is responsible for process ownership and further developing all manufacturing process requirements including batch records, procedures, and training instructions for all current and new product offerings. This position will identify and address opportunities related to improving process, safety, efficiency, product quality, and reducing waste. The Production Engineer will work hands on in the manufacturing process, will work cross functionally with R&D, Quality, Facilities, and Production personnel to achieve the desired outcomes. The position requires a strong engineering and manufacturing background, analytical, and problem solving skills. This position also requires strong project management skills, working along side production personnel, and ability to interface directly with customers (longer term). This position supports and is accountable for the Quality and Food Safety policies in place by the company.
ESSENTIAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
• Production Execution: Execute production schedules aligned with customer demand, ensuring optimal resource utilization. Will work with purchasing team to manage raw material inventory levels to support production needs.
• Oversee scheduling, loading, and offloading of bulk materials in outside tank farm.
• Identify technical options for the reduction in waste and manage their implementation.
• Develop and implement KPI's to measure performance, propose strategies to improve performance, and drive their implementation.
• Equipment and Process Optimization: Maintain and troubleshoot production equipment to minimize downtime. Seek ways to improve production processes,reduce waste, and enhance efficiency.
• Quality Assurance: Enforce strict adherence to quality standards and regulatory requirements throughout the manufacturing process. Responsible for implementation of corrective measures when necessary.
• Ensure all technical information related to the manufacture of all products and processes is current and managed properly, while protecting all intellectual property.
• Seek and coordinate support from Quality, R&D, Plant Manager, and Finance departments where needed to propose and implement new solutions to technical, logistical, or financial challenges encountered in day-to-day operations.
• Team Management: Motivate production team to foster a productive and engaged team environment of continual improvement, collaboration, and creative thinking through strong leadership and mentoring skills.
• Safety and Compliance: Champion a strong safety culture on the production floor. Ensure compliance with OSHA and other relevant environmental and safety regulations.
• Reporting and Analysis: Prepare regular production reports analyzing key metrics on efficiency, quality, and cost. Track trends and provide data-driven insights to support
Education, Certifications and /or licenses:
• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering
Experience / Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
• 5+ years of experience in a production management role within a manufacturing environment (chemical/process industry experience highly valued).
• Demonstrated strong leadership, communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
• Ability to multitask and reprioritize objectives as new information and opportunities are realized.
• Preferred experience in cGMP manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with OSHA, environmental, and other applicable regulations
