The Opportunity The SVP, Engineering & Innovation is a visionary, hands‑on technology executive responsible for leading ConstructConnect’s global engineering organization and accelerating the company’s transition to an AI‑driven, intelligent platform. This role unites software engineering, applied artificial intelligence, computer vision, and platform modernization under a single charter—to build smarter products, scalable platforms, and frictionless customer experiences that fuel growth and differentiation in the construction technology market. The SVP will oversee all aspects of engineering, innovation, AI/ML infrastructure, and platform scalability. They will lead a high‑performing global team to design and deliver intelligent, data‑centric solutions—leveraging large language models (LLMs), computer vision frameworks, generative AI, and advanced analytics to transform how customers interact with ConstructConnect products. This leader will oversee the Engineering delivery, platform scalability, and QA Automation functions spanning software development, release management, agile execution, vendor delivery, and operational readiness in a product operating model. They will be accountable for capacity management, velocity, roadmap alignment, and incident response across a globally distributed engineering organization exceeding 200+ professionals. Responsibilities What You’ll Be Doing Engineering Leadership & Platform Scalability Lead and inspire global engineering teams responsible for multi‑tenant SaaS, data, and platform engineering. Architect scalable, secure, and high‑performance systems capable of supporting millions of transactions and complex AI workloads. Advance modernization through containerization, microservices, event‑driven architectures, and observability at enterprise scale. Drive engineering excellence through metrics on velocity, reliability, and automation. Cultivate a performance‑driven culture emphasizing accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement. AI Innovation & Intelligent Product Engineering Define and execute the company’s AI Innovation strategy, embedding intelligence and automation across the product ecosystem. Integrate ChatGPT‑class LLMs and conversational AI into products and workflows to power intelligent assistants, automated takeoffs, and predictive project insights. Lead computer vision initiatives using YOLO, Detection, and transformer‑based architectures for 2D/3D takeoff, document understanding, and object recognition in drawings and plans. Expand machine‑learning engineering capabilities to operationalize models for forecasting, anomaly detection, and contextual recommendations. Champion AI‑driven development (AI Dev) practices—AI‑assisted coding, automated test generation, and intelligent CI/CD orchestration—to accelerate release cycles. Establish scalable ML Ops infrastructure for model training, evaluation, and deployment using GCP Vertex AI or equivalent platforms. Partner with Data Science to exploit structured and unstructured data, enabling predictive, prescriptive, and generative insights. Foster a culture of experimentation, hackathons, and rapid prototyping that translates innovation into production‑grade capabilities. Customer Experience & Growth Enablement Use AI and ML to personalize user experiences, predict customer needs, and automate complex workflows, increasing engagement and retention. Embed analytics and recommendation systems into core products to provide customers with actionable intelligence. Partner with Product and Marketing to translate platform intelligence into value‑driven narratives and differentiated offerings. Drive measurable improvements in NPS, adoption rate, and time‑to‑value through intelligent automation and UX insights. Quality, Velocity, and Operational Excellence Lead quality engineering, test automation, and reliability programs that enable rapid and safe delivery of complex AI‑enhanced products. Implement robust monitoring, alerting, and AI‑based anomaly detection for proactive system health management. Govern cloud performance, cost optimization, and compute scalability for ML workloads and API‑heavy traffic. Establish predictive incident response and root‑cause analysis leveraging ML for operational resilience. Leadership & Collaboration Drive deep collaboration with Product Leadership, ensuring tight alignment between engineering and product roadmaps, OKRs, and business priorities. Co‑own strategic planning and roadmap execution to translate innovation into measurable customer and business impact. Collaborate cross‑functionally with Product, Security, Data, and Operations to align technical strategy with business priorities. Serve as an executive evangelist for innovation—presenting AI strategy and engineering progress to senior leadership, the board, and external partners. Shape the long‑term technology roadmap that positions ConstructConnect as the AI‑powered leader in pre‑construction intelligence. Qualifications What You Bring to the Team Proven ability to operationalize complex delivery programs and lead transformation through disciplined execution. 20+ years of progressive experience in software engineering and technology leadership, including leading global, distributed teams (200+ engineers). Proven success building and scaling cloud‑native SaaS platforms and AI‑powered digital products. Deep expertise in AI/ML, computer vision, natural‑language processing, and ML Ops engineering. Hands‑on familiarity with LLMs (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini), Detection, transformer models, and generative AI frameworks. Strong background in cloud architecture (GCP, AWS, and Azure), microservices, container orchestration, and event streaming. Demonstrated experience implementing AI‑assisted engineering pipelines, boosting development velocity and code quality. Data‑driven decision maker with proven ability to operationalize AI initiatives that drive measurable business outcomes. Inspirational leader skilled at fostering innovation, scaling teams, and building a culture of excellence and curiosity. Outstanding executive communication skills, with the ability to influence strategy at C‑suite levels. Drive global talent acquisition, retention, succession planning, and foster a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). Accountable for departmental budgeting, investment ROI, and efficient resource allocation. Physical Demands And Work Environment The physical activities of this position include frequent sitting, telephone communication, and working on a computer for extended periods. Team members who live within commuting distance of one of our office locations (Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky or Atlanta, Georgia) are expected to work in a hybrid capacity, with regular in‑office presence as determined by the team or department.
