Description

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides attentive, prompt, and friendly service to all internal and external customers.
  • First point of contact to field customer questions and inquiries, in person and over the phone, and direct them to appropriate parties utilizing the phone system and contact lists.
  • Processes orders and returns according to standard procedures.
  • Builds and maintains customer satisfaction with the products and services offered by the co-op.
  • Handles customer concerns in a professional and positive demeanor.
  • Maintains knowledge of products, sales, and promotions.
  • Maintains knowledge of drives, fundraisers, and events and communicates it effectively.
  • Maintains exceptional communication throughout the co-op, including providing feedback for potential areas of improvement.
  • Gathers baskets and picks up trash inside and outside store as needed.
  • Maintains and stocks bag/bagging areas as needed.
  • Maintains standards for safety and sanitation.
  • Provides attentive, timely, and friendly service to all.
  • Utilizes POS system to process curbside transactions efficiently, entering all accepted tenders accurately.
  • Uses a digital tool to select items necessary to complete curbside orders from store to pack and put away customer orders in staging area, and to retrieve orders for customers.
  • Oversees the smooth processing of special orders, including maintaining appropriate paperwork and communicating with customers throughout the process.
  • Ensures product is received, organized, and stored in a safe manner in accordance with standard procedures.
  • Provides excellent customer service by answering product-related questions, locating products, and helping customers as needed.
  • Achieves productivity standards through providing efficient service.
  • Handles any product in a safe, sanitary, and conscientious manner
  • Operating register and bagging for customers
  • Assists in multiple departments
  • Ensures displays, signage, and tags are accurate.
  • Participates in maintaining cleanliness and order.
  • Adheres to all workplace safety and security policies.
  • Participates in meetings and trainings.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements

PREREQUISITES
  • High School Diploma or equivalent education or experience.
  • A minimum of two (2) years' experience in a retail environment.
  • A minimum of one (1) year's experience with natural foods and products.
  • Supports the co-op's core values and aligns with the Co-op Code of Conduct.
  • Ability to accurately calculate change.
  • Adapts readily based on evolving co-op needs or in response to feedback.
  • Maintains composure in highly stressful or adverse situations.
  • Familiarity with POS systems preferred.
ENVIRONMENTAL & PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Flexibility to work any shift, including mornings, middays, evenings, weekends.
  • Flexibility to work at service desk or registers.
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures (approximately 20°F - 90°F).
  • Ability to stand for long periods at a time.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, reach, kneel, twist, and climb.
  • Ability to push or pull with maintained control up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted.
  • Reliable access to transportation.
