Position Overview: The Division of Genetics within the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Virginia invites applications for the position of Division Director. This is a tenure-eligible or tenure-ineligible position available for academic geneticists at the rank of Associate or full Professor.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Division of Genetics within the Department of Pediatrics.
- Oversee a multidisciplinary team of geneticists, genetic counselors, cytogeneticists, and metabolic nutritionists.
- Contribute to clinical services and participate in on-call genetics care.
- Foster an environment of research and innovation in genetic disorders.
- Collaborate with a diverse group of healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care for families with genetic or metabolic conditions.
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance the division’s clinical and academic missions.
Required Qualifications:
- Board certification in Genetics.
- M.D. or D.O. degree.
- Eligibility for medical licensure in Virginia.
- Established academic geneticist with demonstrated leadership skills.
- Active research program (desirable but not required).
