Division Director of General Pediatrics

The University of Virginia Department of Pediatrics and Division of General Pediatrics invite applications for Division Director of General Pediatrics. This position is a key leadership role that requires a strong academic generalist with a proven track record of leadership and a passion for advancing the field of pediatrics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate clinical, academic, and research activities of the Division.
  • Develop and implement divisional vision and goals, aligning with the broader strategic plans for the Department of Pediatrics and UVA Health.
  • Support faculty development and oversee training programs, ensuring excellence in clinical practice and patient outcomes.
  • Actively participate in clinical service, maintaining a strong presence in the Division.
  • Promote a culture of inquiry, encouraging active engagement in quality improvement, scholarly excellence, and innovation in all missions.
About the Division

The Division of General Pediatrics is a dynamic and growing department within the University of Virginia School of Medicine. Our team consists of primary care pediatricians, pediatric hospitalists, newborn hospitalists, child abuse pediatricians, and breastfeeding medicine specialists. We are experts in evaluating and managing care for families in the general pediatric, pediatric acute care, newborn hospital, and child abuse and breastfeeding medicine clinic settings.

Our Division is committed to advancing the field of pediatrics through research, education, and clinical care. We are dedicated to improving the health and well-being of children and families, and we are seeking a leader who shares our passion and commitment to excellence.
