What You'll Do Manage product quality issues with internal and external customers Advocates sound business practices to support mill operational processes to produce a quality product within budget Develop and implement a comprehensive refractory maintenance program to optimize lifespan and performance Develop and manage budgets for the department Ensures compliance with employment laws and regulations, minimizing the company’s exposure to adverse outcomes of complaints, litigation, audits and inspections Maintains and ensures that the lab is contributing toward producing the best quality bar by reviewing samples, product chemistry and overall operational processes Monitor market trends and assess the impact on raw material costs and availability Work closely with logistics teams to streamline the delivery and storage of raw materials Support continuous process improvements plant wide include: product quality, processes and cost efficiency Ability to work under the guidelines of CMC's core values and safety standards Ability to make sure all employees are trained and well prepared to carry out their daily tasks to ensure everyone's safety What You'll Need Experience working in a Melt Shop environment with knowledge of continuous caster process and secondary metallurgy Familiarity with safety and environmental regulations within the steel industry Excellent verbal and written communication skills Presentation skills to train and offer technical support in both a one-on-one facet and for large groups Problem solving ability to use logic and methods to solve business and process related problems with effective solutions Your Education Bachelors Degree in Metallurgy or Material Science preferred We are Commercial Metals Company, a Fortune500 company with a family feel that’s already part of your life.
