Junior Litigation Attorney (Contract/Contract‑to‑Hire) – Pasadena, CA This small, close‑knit law firm is seeking a Junior Litigation Attorney to join on contract or contract‑to‑hire. The role offers mentorship, a supportive environment, and opportunities for growth. Ideal candidates have experience in insurance defense litigation and are comfortable handling deposition‑related tasks. Job Type Contract/Contract to Hire, Hybrid (3 Days Onsite) after 30‑60 days, Full‑Time Responsibilities Conduct and defend depositions, including witness preparation and post‑deposition analysis Draft and serve deposition notices, subpoenas, and related discovery documents Perform legal research and analysis to support deposition strategy and case development Collaborate with internal teams and clients to assess case strengths, weaknesses, and settlement options Prepare case files, exhibits, and summaries for hearings and trial preparation Communicate with opposing counsel regarding scheduling, discovery disputes, and case updates Assist in drafting motions, pleadings, and other litigation documents as needed Requirements Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree and active membership in the California State Bar Some litigation experience is preferred Strong understanding of civil procedure and deposition strategy Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment Benefits Benefit offerings available for associates include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short‑term disability, additional voluntary benefits, EAP program, commuter benefits, and a 401(k) plan.
