DescriptionBurgeoning California employment and civil rights firm seeks a full-time associate to participate in ongoing litigation and trial preparation in the areas of employment law, whistleblowing, and civil rights.We are offering a base salary of $110,000–$160,000 per year, plus up to $50,000 in annual bonus. Benefits include fully paid Anthem Blue Cross Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance, generous 401(k) matching, and paid time off.LocationExperienced attorneys may be permitted to work on-site or remotely. Less experienced attorneys will be required to work on-site for a period of one year.ResponsibilitiesParticipate in ongoing litigation and trial preparation in employment law, whistleblowing, and civil rightsProject and calendar managementDiscovery drafting and managementLaw and motion practice (including motions for summary judgment and discovery motions)Evidence and document managementLegal researchClient managementTrial preparationQualificationsMinimum 2 years California state civil litigation experience (federal litigation experience a major plus)High degree of competence and skill in the areas listed aboveImpeccable judgment, maturity, and ability to self‑manage assigned litigation/trial projectsAbility to maintain an affable yet closely‑coordinated professional relationship with colleaguesMinimum 1,750 annual billable hour requirementKey DetailsThe firm is currently litigating a number of high‑profile cases involving public corruption. The applicant will gain first‑hand experience with these matters through litigation and trial.
