The IT Operations Specialist is responsible for all site desktop support, the Local Area Network, special projects, and equipment/system upgrades. Installs, modifies, documents, and makes repairs to personal computer hardware and applications, and provides technical assistance and training to system users. Position Description / Main Responsibilities and Tasks Maintain uptime and performance of all IT systems. Prioritize and resolve end-user support requests. Configure, install, and troubleshoot laptops, desktops, printers, scanners, VOIP phones, and mobile devices. Manage hardware/software procurement and deployment; maintain accurate documentation and recycle old equipment as needed. Support LAN infrastructure, including planning layout and cabling and network troubleshooting. Administer Active Directory, SCCM, and network shares. Act as liaison between IT and other departments; coordinate with Help Desk and IT teams for escalations. Provide technical training and mentorship to colleagues when needed. Manage cellular devices and assist with IT budgeting for the Charlotte site. Handle new hire IT setup and onboarding. Maintain IT inventory and ensure minimal downtime. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent 3+ years of experience in a role involving IT operations and systems support Preferred Requirements Associate’s degree or formal training in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field 5+ years of experience in a role involving IT operations and systems support Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Proficiency in desktop hardware and software support Knowledge of LAN infrastructure and troubleshooting Knowledge of Active Directory, SCCM, and network shares Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Clear and effective communication with technical and non-technical users Ability to document processes and maintain accurate IT records Skill in training and mentoring colleagues on technical tasks Capacity to manage multiple priorities and projects Adaptability to evolving technologies and system upgrades Collaborative approach when working with IT teams and other departments Behavior-Based Items/Competencies Action Oriented Approachable Composure Customer Focus Dealing with Ambiguity Acts with Integrity Metric Driven Self-Aware To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the main responsibilities and tasks satisfactorily.
