Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant

OverviewCentral New York Cardiology is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our healthcare team. As a team member, you will diagnose and treat acute and chronic medical conditions, prescribe medications and therapies, and provide education and support to patients and their families in partnership with physicians and other healthcare professionals.ResponsibilitiesBe an integral part of the current 14-provider team and participate in the duties and responsibilities of the 11 mid-level providers.Rotations between Wynn Hospital and patient visits in the Utica Office and/or satellite offices. Weekend rotations are shared; each mid-level provider has one day banked off after covering a weekend.The hospital rotation includes patient rounds (physical exam, review of labs, testing, medications), ordering appropriate testing, medications, or consultations, and admitting/discharging and cardiovascular consultations per established protocols and standards of care.Office rotation includes follow-up appointments with established patients in Utica or satellite offices, with approximately two patients per hour. Consultations with new patients are scheduled; the mid-level is partnered with a physician for collaboration during office visits/appointments.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in a related fieldSuccessful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner programCurrent PA/NP license and certificationExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced environmentStrong problem-solving and critical thinking skillsCompassionate and patient-centered approach to healthcareExperience in cardiology and hospital setting preferredWe offer a competitive compensation and benefits package.
