Description: Responsible for scheduling services, procedures, and appointments by obtaining demographic and clinical information. Works collaboratively with physicians' office staff and other members of the patient processing team to ensure maximum customer relations. Handles all incoming telephone calls in a prompt and courteous manner, transfers calls to appropriate person(s) within the clinic or takes detailed messages. Schedules patients' appointments in-person at the reception desk or over the telephone.Required Qualifications: 1 year experience in a similar or related field (i.e., physician's office, scheduler, etc.) Experience in obtaining insurance verification, referrals, and authorizations. Experience with medical terminology and basic medical record processes. Prior hospital or Ambulatory experience. 1 year Scheduling experience. Experience with computerized scheduling or relational databases. BLS Required
