Become a Hospice Chaplain with Hands of Hope

Do you value the time you spend with your patients? Is it important to you that your patients and their families know and feel that you are with them? We are looking for chaplains or spiritual care coordinators who are committed to creating meaningful patient experiences.

 

As a pediatric chaplain or spiritual care coordinator, you’ll develop, implement and supervise the spiritual care performed for each client. Provide spiritual care support through the coordination of community, religion or spiritual leaders, memorial services, family assessment and conferences. You'll also be responsible for consultation to interdisciplinary team, client and family in issues related to spirituality and a religious belief system.

Qualifications:  EDUCATION: Baccalaureate degree in counseling, theology, divinity or related field. Completion of one unit of clinical pastoral education preferred or minister services.LICENSURE: NAEXPERIENCE: 2-year experience in a health care or hospice setting required. Experience in family counseling regarding issues of loss, grief, death and dying.SKILLS: Ability to develop and maintain rapport with family and clients. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to work well wit h an interdisciplinary team. Excellent skills in interpersonal relations and organization.Demonstrates problem solving and decision making abilities. Possesses interpersonal skills that promote entry into homes, interdisciplinary collaboration and effective communication, and motivate the involvement of the faith community. Knowledge of community resources and methods for client/family referrals.TRANSPORTATION: Reliable transportation.HEALTH STATUS: Meets all applicable agency policies and procedures related to health screening and required testing.
