Oversee the creation, coordination, and scheduling of posts on social platforms to build relationships with potential and existing customers. Monitor and maintain social platforms. Guide colleagues on best practices in marketing and communications. Serve as backup for communications and marketing team members. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: In a coordinated way, develop and execute integrated marketing communications campaigns to promote AMS activities and offerings Collaborate to produce creative content for marketing and promotion campaigns Guide colleagues on best practices in marketing and communications Coordinate, post, and schedule content on social platforms Write, edit, and publish posts to AMS platforms Actively search for interesting user-generated content to share effectively Evaluate and measure content success Monitor social media trends and provide advice on emerging platforms Serve as backup for communications and marketing team members Support management of AMS outreach activities Help with ad hoc special projects, as needed INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL RELATIONSHIPS: A high degree of professionalism is required in dealing with both internal and external relationships. Internal relationships include collaborating with staff throughout the Society and with officers and volunteers; attending certain Society events, possibly including some committee meetings, as assigned. External relationships may include various AMS constituents: members, partners, customers, and vendors; counterparts at sister societies and other organizations; members of the mathematical, academic, and broader scientific community. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This individual may oversee the work of interns.
