Kalb Construction is seeking a Director of Preconstruction to lead our preconstruction efforts across Nevada and Arizona. This individual will oversee the full front end of our project pipeline and guide a growing team of estimators, coordinators, and preconstruction professionals. The Director of Preconstruction will work closely with executive leadership, clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to shape project strategy, produce accurate budgets, and support our continued expansion across all markets. Responsibilities Lead the preconstruction team and provide direction on estimating strategy, project approach, and client communication Oversee conceptual budgeting, schematic estimates, design development pricing, and final GMP proposals Manage preconstruction schedules, deliverable timelines, and the overall workflow across multiple states Develop and refine estimating standards, procedures, cost history databases, and internal systems Work directly with clients and design partners to clarify scope, identify risks, and produce clean, transparent pricing documents Coordinate early subcontractor engagement, value engineering exercises, site evaluations, and cost modeling Provide leadership during the transition from preconstruction to operations, ensuring consistent handoff and project alignment Support market analysis, cost trend forecasting, and competitive positioning as Kalb expands in each region Mentor and develop the preconstruction team to strengthen technical capability, communication, and client service Qualifications Significant experience in commercial estimating and preconstruction leadership Strong understanding of construction methods, building systems, design coordination, and cost drivers Proven ability to manage multiple estimates and deliverables across several markets simultaneously Excellent communication skills with clients, subcontractors, and internal leadership Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, and modern estimating platforms Procore and/or Autodesk experience is a plus Ability to lead, coach, and build a high performing team Detail‑oriented with strong analytical skills and a clear, organized approach to project planning What You Bring A strategic mindset and the ability to see both the numbers and the broader project vision Confidence in client‑facing settings and comfort presenting budgets, assumptions, and scope clarifications A leadership style that elevates the team and supports long‑term professional development Commitment to accuracy, clarity, and ethical business practices Why Kalb Opportunity to lead the full preconstruction function of a rapidly growing construction and development company High level of trust, autonomy, and influence on company direction A culture built on relationships, teamwork, and long‑term client partnerships Room for professional growth as Kalb continues to scale across multiple states Kalb’s Core Values BUILD STRONG RELATIONSHIPS EVERYDAY UNCOMPRIMISED COMMITMENT TO OUR CLIENTS AND OUR TEAM INTEGRITY IN EVERYTHING WE DO LOYALTY IS OUR FOUNDATION DEDICATED TO MAKING DIFFERENCE IN OUR COMMUNITY #J-18808-Ljbffr
