Position summary:Maintaining a clean and healthful environment by utilizing proper laundering procedures to ensure clean and sanitary personal and communal articles.Essential Functions:Collect, wash, dry, and fold residents' and communal laundry on a scheduled basis. Return laundry to proper owner/department.Practice safe infection control procedures including cross-contamination of personal artifacts.Safely follow cleaning products and chemicals directions of usage. Be aware of Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)Keep laundry carts and equipment clean and in working order. Promptly notify manager of needed repairs.Keep laundry machines clean and free of lint and debris.Keep laundry room and linen storage areas well-stocked, clean, and tidy.Attend all required orientation/training and staff meetings.Use proper protective equipment when necessary.Non Essential Functions:Assist in light housekeeping task when necessary.Other duties as assigned.Maintain a positive and professional demeanor toward residents, visitors, families, and co-workers.Adheres to all policies and procedures of Spring Hills.Skills:Reading Comprehension - Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.Time Management - Managing one's own time and the time of others.Speaking - Talking to others to convey information effectively.Active Listening - Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.Attributes:Oral Comprehension - The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.Extent Flexibility - The ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with your body, arms, and/or legs.Near Vision - The ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).Speech Recognition - The ability to identify and understand the speech of another person.Oral Expression - The ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand.Problem Sensitivity - The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong.
